Built in 1911 for $17, 379, the waterworks included land, pumphouse, 6,900 feet of mains, 16 hydrants, and a 40,000 gallon elevated water tank

A new elevated water storage was built starting March 31, 1992. Work has begun on Tavistock’s new elevated water storage facility. KWI Construction of Grimsby,who were the successful bidders for the $1.046 million project began the first phase of construction on Tuesday, March 3lst at the site located on township land behind the present water tower. The project is estimated to be completed in 38 weeks.
