They Also Serve Who Only Stand and Wait -
And so it was with our late friend and comrade Dave Rowley. He was a friendly guy. He was a faithful member of Branch 518, Canadian Legion, for as long as I can remember and attended the monthly meetings as faithfully as anyone, until ill health made it no longer possible. He did his bit wherever he could, but especially on Poppy Day. Year after year he asked for his box and kept vigil on the street and in the public houses of Tavistock with a red poppy tucked in his coat, in the interests of his less fortunate comrades. And so it was fitting that his comrades in arms and in peace did him honour on Thursday, April 3, at the Krug Funeral Home with Padre, the Rev. F. R. Mosher conducting the committal. service. We will remember him!
