Oxford Hotel (now Tavistock Public Library), Woodstock Street South, Tavistock, c.1912

This postcard is of the Oxford Hotel, owned by the Lieblers. It was taken shortly after construction, 1910. An RPPC printed on Sailboat Photo paper produced between 1905-1908.
The many hotels in town accommodated travelling salesmen.
The Message reads: "Dear Niece Ruth. I just arrived here from T today April 25th. This is only a small town population 1,300 16 miles from home and the people are all Germans. The hotel is the one I stop in when here but I do not stay very often. Love, your uncle Charley."
