Audrey Weston - 1927-2023
On March 15, 2023, a warm, kind, compassionate and humble soul, made her final journey home. Audrey gave her family & friends much love & laughter and she will be dearly missed by so many. Born in Stratford, Ontario, she was the youngest child of the late Stanley and Mary McDermott. She was predeceased by her husband Spencer (Ben) Weston in 2006, and her eldest daughter, Heather Weston in 2003.

Audrey began her journey in Tavistock where she lived eighty-eight years of her life. After retiring from CIBC, she enjoyed helping others in any way she could, always displaying her compassionate and genuine soul. She loved to volunteer her time at the Maples Nursing Home in Tavistock where she would organize recreational activities, focusing on bringing in music and entertainment, shared current events. She was also a volunteer with palliative care for many years. She was recognized by Canada with the 125th medal for her outstanding contribution in serving her community. From one who knew her well "a volunteer extraordinaire" and that, "the world needs more people like Audrey."

The last seven years of her life were spent in New Brunswick where she could be with her daughters. She was a most precious mother to Dawn (Roger) Boucher and Faye (Bryan) James. She will also be missed by her granddaughters; Tracy (Mathieu) Bourque and Sharon (Geoff) Kay, and was a special GiGi to her great-grandchildren: Joshua Bourque, Allison Bourque, Riley Kay and Liam Kay.

Audrey is survived by her brother John (Jean) McDermott, nieces and nephews, who were all very dear to her, and close friend Florence McDermott- Sanfilippo.

Predeceased by sister, Mary Grace (Robert) Brady, brother, Donald (Nancy) McDermott, brother- in-law, George (Mary) Weston, sisters-in-law, Olive (Gordon) Allies, Elaine (Laurie) Harris, Jean (Bill) Pollard and nephew John Pollard.

In memory of Audrey, donations may be made to palliative care, or a donation of your choice.

A celebration of Audrey's life will take place at McKees Mills United Baptist Church on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 2 pm.
